Mos T-Shirt (unofficial)

Postby Deathlok » Wed Feb 27, 2013 3:30 pm

As there is a new Superman film coming out this Summer. I thought it would be a good idea to have a T-Shirt with the new chest emblem on it. As it looks really nice.
Unfortunately nowhere is selling them yet. So being the geek that I am, I thought that I would see if I could put one together myself.

So what do we need?
1) The logo!
2) Suitable apparel
3) A means to get the logo onto the garment

An Internet hunt found the appropriate shield image, bought a cheap long sleeved blue tee shirt off of Amazon (£3). Then I managed to find a place that sold high quality inkjet heat transfer paper. A pack of 5 sheets cost me under £5.

Did a few test runs on ordinary paper at low quality to get the logo size correct, colouring and so on. Then printed onto the transfer paper at the highest quality my printer could manage. After a suitable drying time, it was cut to size, placed on the tee shirt and stuck down with an iron and the supplied silicone paper.

The end result? Not too bad for an amateur.

After having had some time to assimilate the image, I think that it could be around 10-15% smaller and it should be placed higher on the shirt. Probably halfway between the gap that exists at present between the shield and the collar.

Might just do another one for the hell of it.

Found a new shield image to use...

Cropped and ready to go. All I need is another T-Shirt. May go with a navy blue one this time.

Have ordered two new long sleeve T-shirts, navy blue and royal blue. Will probably receive them middle of next week.
Going to try the new shield on the navy blue top as that is closer to the actual suit colour.

Wheeeee!

New long sleeved T-shirts have arrived and logo printed. Ironed on and ready to rock and roll...

Logo is very slightly smaller than my previous, about 5% and it has been placed quite a bit higher on the torso. Which looks to me to be the right place.
What do you think?

Better than the last one?

That's enough for now. I don't think I need to make any more. Or do I? :)
